Full Moon wo Sagashite

Full Moon wo Sagashite, which means "Searching for the Full Moon," is a shoujo manga and anime series by Arina Tanemura, since 2002. The story is about a 12-year-old girl named Mitsuki Koyama who dreams of becoming a singer one day. The only obstacle is that she has throat cancer and the only cure is to undergo a surgery that will result to losing her vocal cords. Two shinigami, named Takuto and Meroko visits her and informs Mitsuki that she only has one more year to live. This only makes Mitsuki want to become a singer even more and with the aid of these two shinigami, particularly Takuto, helps her to do so.
