Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist, known as Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, in Japanese, is a series created by Hiromu Arakawa, since 2002. The setting takes place in the early 20th century in a country called Amestris and in this alternate world, the study of alchemy reigns. Two brothers, Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric, attempted to revive their deceased mother by performing a human transmutation. After failing to do so, Edward lost his left leg, but Alphonse loses his entire body. Edward then sacrifices his right arm and places his brother's soul into a suit of armor. The Elric brothers eventually learn about the Philosopher's Stone and in search, they hope to restore their bodies.
