Flame of Recca

Flame of Recca (Recca no Honoo) is a manga series by mangaka Nobuyuki Anzai, since 1995 and later adapted into an anime by Studio Pierrot in 1997. The series follows the story of Hanabishi Recca who takes an interest in ninja and even goes as far as claiming he is a ninja himself. Recca often gets involves in fights and who ever should defeat him, will earn his services as their loyal ninja. Sakoshita Yanagi, a girl with a natural ability to heal wounds, eventually earns his service as a ninja due to her kind nature. Later Recca discovers that he has a natural ability to manipulate flames and that he is the son of a sixth generation leader of the Hokage, which was a ninja clan that was wiped out years and years ago.
